Welcome to your next outdoor Adventure

Our Locations

Hoveringham

The Hoveringham Activity Centre is our new permanent base for water activities.

The address is:

Hoveringham Activity Centre
Nottinghamshire Scouts Adventure
Thurgarton Lane
Hoveringham

There is easy access from the A46 via Lowdham. Please use the A612 (Southwell Road) and follow the sign marked 'Industrial Area' at the junction with Station Road (Google Streetview link). We are trying to minimise the effect of vehicle journeys to and from this location on the local communities by not travelling through the villages of Thurgarton and Hoveringham.

Road access to the centre is on the right after the level crossing at Thurgarton Railway Station.

Alternatively you can travel directly by East Midlands Trains and access the centre on foot via the public bridleway next to Thurgarton Railway Station.

Farndon

6th Newark Sea Scouts provide a base for our water activities on the River Trent.

The address is:

6th Newark Sea Scouts
North End
Farndon
NG24 3SX

There is easy access from the A46. Follow the white road signs from Fosse Road marked 'Farndon Marina'. Just before you reach the automated barrier at the entrance to the marina you will find the drive to the 6th Newark Sea Scouts on your left (Google Streetview link).

Patterdale

The Langton Adventure Centre provides a base for our walking activities in The Lake District. Situated in Patterdale the centre provides easy access to the Helvellyn Range and hill-walking direct from the doorstep for all ages and abilities.

The address is:

The easiest route is from the M6 junction 36, up the A590 and A591 to Windermere, and then over the Kirkstone Pass on the A592 into Patterdale. After passing Brotherswater on the left, the turning for Hartsop is on the right. Langton Adventure Centre is the first white building on the left as you drive into the village from the A592.

There is off-road parking immediately behind the centre on Cross Gate for a small number of vehicles upto minibus in size.

Use OS Map OL5 - The Lake District: North-eastern area (1:25,000), grid reference NY406132.

Snowdonia

Cornel Scout Centre provides a base for our walking activities in Snowdonia and is 3 miles from the village of Trefriw.

The address is:

Cornel Scout Centre
Crafnant Road
Trefriw
Conwy
LL27 0JZ

Turn left immediately after the bridge in Trefriw (if approaching from Betws y Coed) and stay on the road leading to Crafnant. The road is extremely steep for the first part but then winds through farms and woodland, climbing steadily until you reach Lake Crafnant.

Stay on the road to the left of the lake until you pass a telephone box, the site is then through gates to the right. The road is suitable for vehicles up to small lorry size but requires users to be able to reverse if necessary.

Use OS Map OL17 - Snowdon (1:25,000), grid reference SH748605.
